Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is Toronto's public transit system. The TTC provides subway, bus and streetcar service across the entire City at a cost of $3.00 per adult ticket. In 2009, passengers made a total of 471,233,000 trips on the system, an increase of over 4.5 million from the previous year.

The City of Toronto is committed to safe, clean and efficient public transit and is investing heavily in public transit to improve connectivity. The largest and most notable expansion is Transit City, an initiative to build eight new Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines to currently underserviced neighbourhoods.
